Hey PP,

First of all, your paper is great. And, the advice you give is really helpful. Keep it up! Ok, so here's my problem. The 8th grade formal is coming up and there's a guy that I want to go with. I think he is into me, too, but I can't tell. What should I do? Wait and see if he asks me? Should I ask him? I know some people say the girl shouldn't ask the guy. What do you think? Also, since the dance isn't until May, is it too early to ask? Any advice would help.

Thank you so much! First of all, its ok for the girl to ask the guy, there’s nothing wrong with that. If you really like this guy, you should go ahead and ask him, as long as you are sure he doesn’t already have a girlfriend. If you decide to ask him make sure you are prepared if he says no; if he says yes that’s great, but if he says no remember there are plenty other guys you can ask. The important thing is that you had the courage to ask him in the first place. You could also wait for him to ask you, but you don’t want to wait too long and have him not ask you; then you would be left with no one. If this happens it still isn’t a big deal. You can go with your friends and still have a good time. Since the dance isn’t until May, you could wait a little bit longer if you want to, but again, you don’t want to wait too long. You also have to keep in mind other guys are going to ask you. There’s a lot to think about here, but in the end its all about what you feel comfortable about.

Ok, ok, I admit it. I have Bieber Fever! But, it seems like I am the only one in my grade that has it. I've seen the movie....Loved it. I have all of his songs......Love them. But, my friends are telling me he's a loser. I want to like him, but I don't want to be looked at as a loser too.

What should I do?

If you want to like him, than like him!! It doesn’t matter what other people think it’s your choice. I know that Justin Bieber seems to have become a lot more popular ever since his movie came out. A lot of people who said they hated him went and saw the movie anyway. Another person who had a similar situation was Zach Efron. I know a lot of people hated him and called him untrue things, but than he came out in 17 Again and EVERYBODY loves him!! You’re not the only one in the grade, I bet most people like him but like you, they don’t want to seem like a “loser.”
