Entertainment: The Frederick County 4H Fashion Review

by: Jamie R.

The Frederick County 4H Fashion Revue is a great way to show off your sewing skills! Fashion Revue is an annual competition in Frederick County where kids can sew outfits and then model them and find a winner. Every contestant has constructed their own homemade outfit.

At the event contestants bring in their outfits and throughout the day the judges go around and judge the garments without the contestants present. Later in the day contestants put on their outfits and go into a judging room and get questions from the judges about their outfits.

In the evening the show starts. The show is about an hour long but it depends on how many contestants there are and it is open to the public. In the show the contestants model their outfits. After the main part of the show the judge’s talk and then the say the winners.

You can win Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, or Best Model. You may have to become a member in 4H to be in the competition but I fully recommend it. 4H is a great program and it offers many opportunities. The website for Fashion Revue is http://frederick.umd.edu/4-h/HumanSciences/Fashion%20Revue.cfm. We hope to see you at the next Frederick County 4H Fashion Revue!
